  • Swim
    • Long out / back course with two (possibly one) quick left turns at the far end.
    • Given left turns, this favors swimmers who prefer to breathe on their left
  • Bike
    • Mostly Seven Lakes Drive.  Looking at the pdf map, as most of you know,
      • Seven lakes is “rolling down” from the Tiorati traffic circle out toward Lake Welch to the turnaround
      • Seven lakes is “pure downhill” from the Tiorati traffic circle in the opposite direction for the short 1.7mi to the other turnaround
      • Given that we enter this two-loop course midway from lake welsh parkway, the effective pattern of effort is:
        • 5mi Rolling up
        • 2mi downhill
        • 2mi uphill
        • 10mi rolling down
        • 10mi rolling up
        • 2mi downhill
        • 2mi uphill
        • 10mi rolling down
        • 5 rolling up
    • This is what we normally train on, less the 2mi downhill/uphill segment.
    • It actually is a bit easier because the starting point is about mid-length.
    • Will be extremely important to ride even effort
      • No hammering hills and then sightsee/recover on decents, but actually even power +/-5%
  • Run
    • I’m not as famiar with this route, but as best as I can tell, it’s going to be rough
    • Mile 3-7, there is a 1.2mi descent 250’ followed immediately by a 2.5mi section of sustained climb of nearly 300’
